{"id":194,"date":"2018-01-21T19:19:19","date_gmt":"2018-01-21T19:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.staciehibino.org\/stacie\/?p=194"},"modified":"2018-08-04T20:43:49","modified_gmt":"2018-08-04T20:43:49","slug":"presentation-photo-pizzaz-kodak-blog-november-2007","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.staciehibino.org\/stacie\/blog\/2018\/01\/21\/presentation-photo-pizzaz-kodak-blog-november-2007\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation Photo Pizzaz (Kodak Blog, November 2007)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>NOTE: This is a \u201creprint\u201d of my blog post to Kodak\u2019s previous \u201cA Thousand Words\u201d blog.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Patterns and images are all around us and they make it really easy to add a little pizzaz, visual interest and personality to a presentation (e.g., a presentation such as one created in Microsoft PowerPoint).&nbsp; For example, here are a few slides that I created with some of my pictures:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/staciehibino.org\/core\/images\/kodakBlog\/2007_10_bg1.jpg?w=250\" alt=\"background 1\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/staciehibino.org\/core\/images\/kodakBlog\/2007_10_bg2.jpg?w=250\" alt=\"background 2\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/staciehibino.org\/core\/images\/kodakBlog\/2007_10_bg3.jpg?w=250\" alt=\"background 3\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/staciehibino.org\/core\/images\/kodakBlog\/2007_10_bg4.jpg?w=250\" alt=\"background 4\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>I used pictures from the garden, the close-up of a pattern on a throw pillow, and a close-up of a sweater to capture these patterns.&nbsp; You could go to a free or paid online service to find similar pictures to add to your presentations, but why not look around you and capture your own?&nbsp; A bowl of fruit, the grass outside, floor tiles, etc. \u2013 they all have the potential to add some visual interest to your presentation.<\/p>\n<p>When I traveled to Ireland, I took pictures of floor tiles from a church.&nbsp; You don\u2019t have to use the whole picture, but you can crop a picture and use it along an edge of your slide like this:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid gray;\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/staciehibino.org\/core\/images\/kodakBlog\/2007_10_bg5.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"slide example\"  data-recalc-dims=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>One tip to note about incorporating images into a presentation, however, is that you should either decrease the resolution of the image ahead of time or use options in your presentation software to compress the images contained in your presentation.&nbsp; If you don\u2019t do this, you could end up with a very large file!<\/p>\n<p>What about you, how do you use images in your presentations to convey information and visual interest?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NOTE: This is a \u201creprint\u201d of my blog post to Kodak\u2019s previous \u201cA Thousand Words\u201d blog.
